First video I've seen from this channel. Are all his videos formatted like this with him in a circle at the bottom and the video in a square at the top? It's so hard to watch both to see what's going on. Maybe it's just me? Liked the reaction but feel like I'm constantly missing things because its impossible to focus on both at once.

Taylor Swift is phenomenal live. I’ve been binging on reactions to this song - I love seeing the astonished faces when she hits that note, when she belts the song out like that. I must have looked very similar when I first heard it. From powerhouse performances like this to the delicate intricacies of the Long Pond sessions, I’ve been hearing her music in a whole new way. She sings about so much more than the breakup songs she’s famous for. This Is Me Trying is going to reach so many people, if they listen to the interview explaining it. I’ve been on that precipice she talks about, the metaphorical car on the edge of the cliff. To hear someone recognize how much it took to not take that next step shattered me.

This was amazing! It’s so different listening to someone react to LWYMMD when they know what she’s talking about, what she’s referencing. And there are probably more Easter eggs in this video than in any other video she’s made. She said herself that there are some that wouldn’t be caught for years - I guess they referred to music yet to come. (It gets kinda long here. Sorry about that!) I’m not a Swiftie, but I’ve been learning a lot recently. If you look deeper into this video, if you’re interested in the meaning of the details, you’ll find a lot. Like the single dollar in the bathtub full of jewels, and the “tilted stage” as she straightened the graveyard. Those are probably the most obvious two, there are so many more. Spotify references, and of course a lot that are about the Scott Borchetta/Scooter Braun situation. That’s so heartbreaking - Scooter Braun may be a bully, but Scott Borchetta was a second father to her. That's a whole different kind of pain. There are more references to him in her music than new listeners catch. Once I knew, I could hear them everywhere. I fell in love with the long pond studio sessions, the emotion in that live My Tears Ricochet honestly made me cry, knowing she’s talking to someone who she once loved like family. Somehow that made it hurt more to listen to than if it had been a breakup song. "And I still talk to you, When I'm screaming at the sky, And when you can't sleep at night, You hear my stolen lullabies". Ouch. I liked her music before, but I didn’t seek it out to listen to. Since the Eras tour began, starting a dive into her whole catalog, I’ve been discovering stuff I absolutely love. Watching good reaction videos has been so much fun. I'll listen to a new (to me) song, then go watch other people listen to it for the first time. Your videos have been a delight.

It amuses me how far apart the rap/hip-hop and metal communities tend to be... they actually have a _lot_ in common. Both are extremely rhythm-driven, both vocal styles have at _least_ as much emphasis on cadence and layered, deep lyrics as on melody and singing chops (with the latter being optional in many sub-genres of both)... And actually, you could go to a concert just fine, bro. Metalheads are some of the nicest, most welcoming people in the world, almost universally thrilled to welcome new people who appreciate what they love into the fold. Mosh pits _look_ bananas, but they're actually not as bad as they look. Don't get me wrong, friends who can do them (I never could; my body wouldn't tolerate even a little bit of it) definitely come out bruised... but almost never any worse than that. Mosh pits also form in fairly predictable areas, generally somewhere between 3-10 rows back from the rail, and somewhere in the central third of the stage. If you can get there early, claim a spot on the rail and actually you'll be fine (I used to stand with my hands on the rail, arms extended, with a small female from our group in between for protection but honestly it was never really needed). Otherwise, just be a bit further back, or off to the sides, and if you suddenly find yourself standing alone with the crowd parted around you like the red sea, uh... duck, I guess? xD Or just meander off to a border and you'll be a'ight. There are only really three main 'patterns' in a mosh pit. Slam-dancing (afaik that's what it's called) is just dancing in a crowd like you're not, shoving people around freely and chaotically (but not intending harm). The wheel or pinwheel is basically just like, 50 grown-ass people playing ring-around-the-rosie, complete with skipping half the time. xD The Wall of Death is the only one to really be worried about if you're not involved. That was what happened in the surprise chuggy ending after the false ending with "I smile to you..." where the floor cleared, and the crowd rushed at each other from two directions. If you're in the front row of that as it crashes, that's probably the _most_ dangerous place to be, but... trust me, if you don't _want_ to be in the front ranks of a wall of death? You ain't gonna be. Those people _know_ they want it, and what they're in for. If you don't want it and try to melt back, you'll find four others eager to take your place. Honestly, crowd-surfing at a more traditional rock or pop concert (or some genres of metal) is way more dangerous than anything in a mosh pit. Gravity is brutal, yo. And from what I understand, trying to get anywhere _near_ the actual stage at a hip-hop or rap concert is the most dangerous of all, heh.

You might be interested to know their writing style, given how much you dug how she writes. Basically... Tatiana is a legendary procrastinator. The song Wallflower is actually _about_ that, about her bandmates hounding her for the lyrics and vocal recordings right up to the deadline, while she tries to escape to her safe place. So what happens is, the boys jam and workshop until they have a demo recorded, which they send to her. They keep doing that until they have an album's worth. Then about a week (or less!) before their studio booking, she finally, reluctantly writes the lyrics, threads the melodies in and around their _incredibly_ intricate writing, sometimes writing in Russian and then translating to English, sometimes writing in English directly, and then they go record the ish, and it's just _magical._ She is a magical creature unlike any other, a generational talent _very much_ in the vein of Freddy Mercury. No formal training, no effort expended to care for her voice... she drinks, she smokes, and she basically tripped and fell into a healthy way of doing harsh vocals by emulating singers she liked.

The video for this is fine, but Live at Vacken 2019 the typical second reaction after Pisces because the audio quality is spectacular, it's true live, and it dispels any doubt that they're for real. Some of their songs really pop with the video, but Perennial's is... I don't wanna say it's a little "phoned-in" but... it's probably the most missable video they have, where this live performance absolutely demolishes the OMV. If you want _fantastic_ OMVs from Jinjer, check out Vortex, Home Back, and Wallflower. All three of those are incredible and can stand up to any other music video from _anywhere_ IMO.

"Do women in this genre sound like this!?" Hell naw, bro. Tati is definitely an anomaly. Closest I could point you toward is maybe Conquer Divide's bassis/growler. They're an all-female metal band who a lot of people discovered through a pop-punk track they did with Electric Callboy called "Fckboi". She can go low, but _nothing_ like Tati. She's got at _least_ an octave in terms of sound-center on any other female vocalist and is only maybe half an octave shy of the lowest _males._ For the deepest she goes, check out "Who's Gonna Be the One, Live in Atlas Park". Or she goes just about that low at the end of "Vortex (OMV)".

That song was being played all over that beach and in the bars at night. Heard some last of my kind and Vegas out there too. The guy deserves all of the good that’s coming. Love his music

One cut. Right where you said, behind the chair. Couldn't afford to rent the location for another day if it went wrong, because once the water flows, it's done and needs at least overnight to dry out for another take.The only other opportunity they left themselves was after Ren's piano solo opening, in the blur of the sack coming off of his head, because he was worried he couldn't reliably get a good piano take and a good take of the main section, but they didn't end up needing it, so no cut was present there. Magazine swap under the table during the closeup of the gun, and a decommissioned gun with no pin (and probably a mid-barrel plug though I'm not sure on that one), but like you said, whatever they did is beside the point; the tension in the scene is _bonkers._ The number of reactors who literally freak out screaming "Oh my god, trigger discipline!!" right there... you got it _exactly_ on the head. Totally intended. My favorite story though, about this video... did you notice when the sprinklers went, they malfunctioned a little, and started getting the viola player wet? She just very subtly moved her bow and her foot to keep the bow dry. Ren was so proud of her and grateful to her for not ruining the shot, that he paid to have her viola and bow restrung just in case. *That's who Ren is.* And this was _before_ the album dropped at #1 in the UK and he truly made it big, before he had what I'm sure is a pretty amazing amount of money at this point. He also spoke openly about his own hypocrisy, about how he knows he talked in Hi Ren about how his music isn't commercial and he's not chasing that kind of success, and how Money Game is all about the problems with the mentality of chasing fame and fortune... and yet when it was looking like a #1 chart release was _possible?_ I believe his words, as close as I can, were, "I wanted it. I wanted it _bad."_ He pushed everything he could into a giant and very creative grassroots marketing effort, creating a real-life treasure hunt for his social media followers to go on, called in every favor he's ever been owed, all while _perfectly_ aware of the hypocrisy of it, and how hard he was going, participating in the money game. Ren is amazing. P.S. Knox Hill was in the building the first two out of three shooting days. He was supposed to play the waiter with the tray of Champaign, but got swapped out last-minute, but still helped out, hung with Ren, etc.

"Everybody's point of view feels reasonable to them" is one of the mottos I try to live by. _Very_ few people wake up in the morning thinking "I'm gonna be an evil prick today." They _do_ exist, but they are very few. _Most_ of the evil in the world is perpetrated by people so stuck in their own paradigm, which _feels reasonable to them_ that they can't even _imagine_ that anyone else's might be reasonable as well, or even _more_ reasonable. Goes along really well with Hank Green's "Imagine others complexly".
